We are praying for marriages - the struggling, the hurting, those that feel defeated, those that feel out of control with their flesh…betrayal…dishonesty…those competing for attention of their spouse….

satan’s goal and aim is to kill, steal, and destroy the image of Jesus in the covenant of marriage. Make no mistake, we do not wrestle with flesh and blood…the basis of the majority of our agruments and how satan influences us is by using our feelings and emotions against us.

It simply is in a word called desires…having desires is good…like “I desire my spouse to _______________(put in your desire)” - it’s ok until we start demanding it from them…creating expectations…that lead to disappointments…we become critical…we judge them…and then we punish them…our sins start with allowing our feelings to go beyond our desire because once we have been disappointed we enter into…

“I didn’t get what I wanted when I wanted it.”

Communication is key…however only God can change the heart of man. So as we communicate our needs or our desires to our spouses, let us leave it there without demanding. Ask God to intervene, examine our hearts, and try our motives. Ask God, for what you need and believe He will give it to you. Whether He changes your spouse or you, its a win, win opportunity – your heart will be satisfied…its a promise! (This concept is the key in every relationship)

QUESTION: Who do we love the most? Is it ourselves? Is it our spouses? Our children?…there starts our problems…nothing will work the way we want it until we have made Jesus the lover of our soul.

Once again, God would allow an event…an unwelcomed interruption into our lives to forever change us. A woman driving by…compelled to stop her car…asked if anyone called 911 and then started praying over him that left a deep impression on his co-worker. It was on a Sunday and the incident happened about 10:30ish am most likely she was on her way to the House of God. God brought His angels to the scene immediately following the blow that knocked him to the ground covered in blood and disoriented. He knew someone was in an accident as he wiped the blood from his face, he just didn’t understand how he was involved….an ambulance ride to Berlin Virtue would start out a new journey the Lord would put us on…a journey that truly wasn’t about the physical realm but spiritual.

Over the past 365 days God has allowed the Mascioli’s individually and as a family to have challenges, changes to what we considered our norm. Some would think God has punished us in their skewed perception of our lives…some wouldn’t spend the time to think or care why…some would come along side and know this was so much bigger than ourselves. God loves us so very much, our interruption is a trial, it has brought adversity, it has brought attack in the physical realm. However make no mistake about it, it was a life lesson that births in the spiritual…new perspective…humility…reality check, life is precious…God is so big and so remarkable…it is a gift. It is in our times of need that we come to see how desperate we are for God. We cannot live without Him…we are so dependant for Him and without fail…He is so faithful. It is because HE loves us so much that He would allow such a tragic event to interrupt our lives. Time…for God to get alone with us…is priceless & sweet as He stops life all around us to get our undivided attention!

It has been extremely challenging for my husband. The blow to his head left him with a fractured skull, his face cracked from the crown of his head zigzagged down the center of his face to his chin. He had broken bones all around his eye socket to his temple. The healing process for the brain is slow and long. God has made the brain the center of all the body takes in. When damaged it has to learn to reboot information. For all that could have been lost in the accident, the Lord spared Sammy. His life was spared…most of his memory is intact and his endurance is about 80%. Sammy’s nickname was the Mule…for Samuel. This has taken a toll on his body and now we sing the ole’ grey mare just aint what she use to be, LOL.

His struggles are sharp pains to the brain, like a knife stabbing him. The brain is now growing around the fracture and scar tissue, there is pressure and lots of fatigue. He has ringing in his ear constantly and the other ear is sensitive to excessive noise. He now experiences more pressure around his sinuses with the weather…most of these symptoms he is told he has to learn to live with. It’s nothing horrible, just nagging nuisances. The doctor hasn’t released him yet, she will keep an eye on him and reevaluate him in August. He has to have shoulder surgery this spring as well.

All this to say, my husband, despite his challenges goes to work daily…comes home tired. He isn’t able to do what he used to do. He does his best. He struggles taking in multiple faces at once and therefore has a hard time preaching. His endurance for his family has weakened he now takes naps, four children who love daddy demand a lot of attention and activity…not to mention me, his wife! You will see the life drain out of Sam before your very eyes and he will turn white as he is determined to finish what he has started or stay the morning at church. He used to be able to work through the night and show up at church that morning and no one would know he hadn’t slept, not so any longer.

We have had our own personal struggles in our marriage as I relearn him and understand his limitations. The enemy has had a bulls-eye on our marriage from day one. I praise God that we are commitment to Jesus, our vows, and our desire to glorify God…it isn’t always easy…it can be hard…however, it is not an option…it’s a command. I am thankful for a husband that will fight in the spiritual realm and trust God with me.

I am so proud of my husband…he is amazing and deserves much respect. He has a heart and love for people like I have never seen. He never takes out his struggles on others; you never know he is struggling. He works hard and with his challenges never complains. He is an amazing example of God’s grace. We as a family trust God and believe all things work together for our good because we love God and are called for His purpose. We by far are not perfect, just being perfected in our Master’s hands. We are Praising and giving thanks we have had husband and daddy the last 365 days. God is teaching us more patience and to eliminate expectations of what was, as we are learning how to adjust on our ongoing journey with Him!

No matter what goes on around me that I stay focused to my call…that my eyes are fixed to the finish line and I will not give up, nor sway, nor turn my head or my mind to the distractions the enemy is influencing against me.

De 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

I have envisioned that He has given me an assignment and there are many who would not like me to finish it. When I start to feel like I need to give up, retreat, or run away… He reminds I didnt tell you to walk away…I told you to WALK ON!!! Walk forward…this is a new fresh boldness and courage I have never experience before.

How many times in the past, I have ran and hid behind the bed…I have allowed myself to be distracted and follow after several false leads getting off track….I have taken detours hoping they didnt look as bad as what was right in front of me…Anyone else run from God? Anyone else see the delay in doing so?

So the battle is on…as you know…new battles bring new processing trying to figure it all out…I have decided there is no processing any longer… just obedience…yet another first….just trust and obey even when the walls are coming in around you…He will see me through what He has called me to do! There are levels of trust and obey…its not like when you have just passed the test, but have mastered it, God moves you on to the next level…can I get a witness?!

I have so many unclean thoughts attacking me out of nowhere…How many of us have that going on? We must fight against them, tear down, and do this without sinning…I must do this in LOVE…yet another first of realizing even my thoughts need to be love…its training for the real deal.

I have been down the mountain and back up the mountain more than I can count…I have been called to STAND at the top of the mountain, only to turn away of insecurity or fear of the unknown…I have missed my opportunity! I may not be proud of that…but I can say this…none of it was in vain…God has used EVERY hardship of sin to train and teach me…I have the best Teacher! It always starts out that I hate the drills that He puts me through…then by the end when I get what I was suppose to learn…crazy but true…I learn to embrace it with gratefulness. I am fully persuaded that ALL things are working together for my good because I love God and He loves me…I am fully persuaded that if God is for me…who can be against me?

I have altered my own path and destiny because of the distractions and the attacks…I have not only delayed my own blessings but whoever the Lord connected to that act of obedience. I believe I am starting to see the spiritual warfare for what it really is…I keep saying that….I guess God is taking back the veil little by little…all that to say…obedience brings blessings…His Word is a light unto my path…He promises if I commit my ways to Him He will direct my paths….He will go before me…He holds my hand…He does the work…and then confirms it…

All I need to do is walk it out trusting He is in control and I have decided to follow Him where ever He goes. Encouragement…Even when those around us have different plans for us…even when others think they can control you or play god for you in your life…Choose you this day who will you serve…them or God?

I have one God…I serve one God…I am a bond slave to one God…not many little gods (people)…but to the God of the Universe…the Jesus of Nazareth…my friend the Holy Spirit. There is great comfort in that. My obedience may make others feel uncomfortable as they tear at me…in love I know it has nothing to do with me…as the spiritual warfare goes on…God help us all!

We must be encouragement to each other to stay the course no matter what! In the end we stand before GOD not others…we give an account to GOD…In the end…we stand alone.

The KEY is to be fully persuaded to know God and 1Co 7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. 2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

I REST in this: For the LORD shall be MY confidence, and shall keep MY foot from being taken. (Proverbs 3:26) emphasis added MY

I TRUST that: The LORD shall guide ME continually, and satisfy MY soul in drought, and make fat MY bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isaiah 58:11) emphasis added ME
