The Lord is good…

knowing God

The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (Nahum 1:7 KJV)

Today may we remember how Good God is! Looking back over our years do you see God is with you in all of our troubles? He knows them that trust in HIM. God knows His kids. Knowing God more importantly is essential for living the abundant life. Knowing God’s attributes, His office, and His promises will put Him in the right perspective for you if you don’t.

God’s office is that He is Ruler over the entire universe. He is Sovereign which means…He has your back…He is in control and working all things together for HIS good, HIS purpose, and HIS pleasure.

His attributes or character are too many to list…He is the essence of love, joy, and peace…He also is the essence of jealousy, wrath, and justice. God is jealous for our hearts and wants more of us. However, because He also is gentle and long suffering He is a gentleman and does not force or “rule” over us in a demanding way. God totally wants us to want Him! On the other hand, those who rebel against His ways, He is a gentleman also waiting for the day to execute justice and deliver His anger on those who refuse to comply with the orders of His Kingdom.

His promises are everlasting and is the essence to the power we are able to walk life out in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

He knows us, each one individually and He is working behind the scenes to be our strong hold in the day of trouble. He sees the heart. The heart is the where the evidence of our nature flows. Have we trusted in Him with all of our heart?

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV)

With much love for the brethren~
