Pray and do not grow weary…

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:1-8 KJV)

Faint in the Greek means to be utterly spiritless, to be wearied out, and exhausted. How many of us have given up on praying?! I don’t mean the asking God questions or telling God our problems, I mean praying like our life depends on it?

In this portion of Scripture, Jesus is saying men should always pray and never become utterly spiritless, wearied or exhausted. This must have been a labor, a consistency of fervency wouldn’t you say?

Jas 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent (to be operative, be at work, put forth power, to work for one, aid one, to effect, to display one’s activity, show one’s self operative)  prayer (a seeking, asking, entreating, entreaty to God or to man) of a righteous man availeth much.

This is why some of us grow weary, we put forth such effort and power to pray for others we can grow very tired. Some of us may have grown weary  just because we got tired not receiving our answers. I am guilty of that! There are times and seasons my prayer life was almost numb. I don’t know if anyone can relate, almost like I prayed but I was in a state of like paralyses. I don’t even know if I can describe the season, however I do believe now it was satan numbing me so I would have no fervency nor exercise my power and authority IN Christ to aid on the behalf of others.

Getting back to the Luke 18, Jesus is making a profound statement. The judge who didn’t regard God or man, finally gave in to the widows request…how much more will our God, our Daddy who loves us and will avenge his own deliver for us?! His question is; When I come back will I find faith on earth? I can say this, when I was in the season of whatever it was, He may have been disappointed. I was not exercising my faith, almost going through the motions, not in a legalistic way that “I have to pray”, but going through the motions of “whatever if it happens it happens” kinda attitude. It’s hard to put words around this, but somewhere, somehow, I believe God wants to use this to speak to others.

We must be persistent. We must be intentional. We must be proactive. We must pray and not grow weary. We must have faith. It is the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man that avail…(to avail means; that have power, strength to overcome, to be a force, to be serviceable, to be ABLE!)

Today, I encourage you not to give up! If you feel weak call someone and ask them to pray with you! The enemy does not want us proclaiming our position and believing God, we are His children! We are joint heirs with Jesus, which means we are treated the same as His son in our inheritance! God loves us so much and He wants so much more for us…He wants us to want all of Him and as we want more God He delivers! Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…If we belong to God we will naturally desire to seek those things which are above!

As we are persistent to press into God, may we all find what we are looking for!

Rejoice for the Ruler of the Universe has you on His mind today!

With much love for the brethren~

AMEN!AMEN!!!!!! I have found myself doubting and lacking faith in God. That was before. I have a fire in me now and a thirst for God and being Spirit filled. I will not allow my circumstances or what people say dictate how I pray, worship or do what the Spirit leads me to do! My God in Heaven has given me EVERYTHING! , how can I not go after Him?!!!
