Morning Word will be at rest for the summer…

at rest

Ps 37:7 ¶ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

It is so important to rest. Psalms 23…The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…He makes me to lie down in green pastures, besides the still waters, He restores my soul…

When we are constantly running, we will burn out. If we do not take time to refuel, refresh, and rejuvenate we will feel like we are besides the rushing violent river that wants to take us down and drown us.

God did not intend our lives to be so rushed or busy. He did not ever intend for those in ministry to be over extended.

What He did purpose was for us to be intentional about His business, when He directs and compels us. He also intended us to love Him more than anything or anyone else. He also intended us to spend all of our time seeking Him and His plans for our lives.

God loves to say to us, Come away with me…sit by my feet and rest. It is in this place we are intentionally listening and waiting for the Lord’s teaching, purging, and refreshing! Some think being at rest means being idol…contrary! Some may think being at rest means being unproductive (I used to think this way myself!) This is a lie! Being at rest with the Lord is Biblical, Jesus did it and exampled getting alone with the Father. Sabbaticals birth new visions, dreams and perspective. It allows God the time He wants to get to our hearts about us. If we are always rushing around for everyone else, we tend to think we are doing “good” and we are OK. God isn’t looking for good, He is looking for godliness. He wants our attention and He wants to work on us! Will we give Him time and space for that?

We are to trust God with our families, our businesses, our ministries. With that said, the Morning Word will be at rest for the summer…I will be at rest away from the computer…spending more intimate time with God and my family.

It is good to be able to walk away from things to turn into God. It is healthy to keep our hands open wide and up towards heaven…it shows we are not holding onto anything and always ready for God to fill our hands with the work He desires!

Our thoughts for the summer: Rest in the Lord, be patient in waiting for Him, He is a good Shepherd…He restores our soul when; we lie down in the green pastures looking up at the sky with the warmth of the sun beating down on our face as we are relaxing by the stream and listening to the smooth and gentle sound of the calm waters passing over the rocks. In other words…take time to smell the roses :) enjoy your summer…trust God…trust God!

With much love for the brethren~
